Hi All – Alan here and we’ve got some exciting news!
The blog has been notably quiet these last few weeks, but with good reason. A few months ago, we started having conversations with some of you around meal planning. A couple of readers commented that it would be really nice to have our recipes packaged up in an easy to use weekly plan.
We didn’t think too much about it at the time to be honest, but then a few more people said the same thing.
We ran a survey in October (which so many of you participated in – thank you!), and this is what we learned:
- Meal planning mostly sucks. About 5% of people we talked to enjoy the process on a regular basis
- We all know you should eat well, but most of us are too busy these days to put in the time required.
- Many of you have tried a paid service (Myfoodbag, Blue apron, etc.). Of those who have, almost all have quit due to A) cost B) impractical recipes (due to allergies or intolerance)
We want to do it for you.
How2food will be a personally tailored meal planning service, with self-generating grocery lists and the option to have the food delivered straight to your door from your local supermarket.
When you sign up you spend a few minutes outlining your preferences and requirements, and then we’ll create recipes that specifically cater to those inputs. Meat eaters who want the odd vegan meal, no problem. Dairy free, nut allergy or fussy eaters – we’ve got you sorted.
It’s not ready quite yet – We’re hoping for April 2017 as of writing this. For now, you can head over to http://www.how2food.co.nz/ to read a bit more about the idea, and sign up for free early access.
What about Castironcookie?
We started this blog just over a year ago now hoping to have a little fun, and help people with a dairy intolerance get in the kitchen.
While we’ve learnt more than we could possibly imagine in such a short period, we realise now that a blog doesn’t do enough. We haven’t been thinking big – not yet at least. How2food is the solution to that –we’re REALLY excited about it.
Castironcookie.com isn’t going anywhere, but for the next few months we’ll be devoting all of our energy towards how2food. We’ll also be changing the name of all our social media platforms, so we can tap into those established communities a bit earlier – to get the word out faster.
Within the next week we’ll be setting up a blog functionality on the new site, and we’ll be active on social media with updates on progress so you know what we’re up to.
For now – head on over to how2food and sign up for free early access, share it with your friends, and if you have any questions let us know!
